I've been looking to buy a second hand DVD player. You know, the portable type. It's quite convenient to have a portable DVD player. You can watch it anywhere, anytime. I saw some of those in Sunway Pyramid. It cost quite a bit for new ones. I wonder where to get the surplus ones. My sister have it. She bought it brand new for P6000.00. I realized it's the standard price for brand new ones. Maybe I check e-bay. I might find a second hand portable DVD player there. It's been a long time since I haven't been buying from e-bay.

Mesothelioma

I'd been reading a lot about Mesathelioma nowadays. It's good that people are becoming aware of this disease. It's always good to know there are Mesothelioma lawyers to take care of the cancer victims. Sometimes there are companies that don't warn their workers about the hazards of asbestos, it's effect on people who are daily exposed to it. Sometimes, it does hurt especially if we don't know what we're dealing with.

What Do You Think?

As you have known, our 5-day hotel stay at Langkawi was a gift to us by friends. They're such a blessing to us. Actually, they're a blessing to a lot of people, not just to us. I can see how God blesses them in return for their generosity. I always feel that we need to show our gratitude towards them everytime they give us something. They actually told us not to bother about it. The first time they gave us something (which was a digital camera), we gave the wife a box of chocolate. They told us not to do it again. So we gave her a bunch of flowers the next time. I think it is just proper to show some kind of thankfulness, right? So this time... what do we give in return? A laundry hamper for thew wife? It's quite practical. A thank you card? Maybe. What do you think?

Coming Home

I always prefer coming home to a clean house. Usually, I and hubby would do spring cleaning before leaving for a family getaway. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to clean up the house before we left. I only made sure the kitchen was clean. My kitchen is my favorite place to clean up. Not that I love doing the dishes. I dislike it so much. But I have to do it... otherwise, who would do it for me? I remember my parents would sarcastically tell me to call up the president of the Philippines to do our dishes for me every time I complained about doing it. Anyways, speaking of doing dishes and kitchen stuff, I need to find out about Delta faucets... you know, for future reference.

Anyways, today, when we came back home, my living area was in a mess. I felt agitated. I went straight to the kitchen to cool myself down a bit. Good thing it was still spic and span clean. Will do the house cleaning tomorrow. Promise.

I Am So Tired

As I have posted earlier, I feel so tired. There's just too many things going on. One day I found myself happy, one day I found myself crying. As you have known, we were on holiday for the last 5 days. I really enjoyed this break with my family. The kids had a blast. We had seafood almost every dinner. And it was so cheap. You can get one grilled fish for RM5 (that's about 1.50$) and 4 big prawns for 10RM. Surprisingly, the girl loved the prawns that we ordered it again for our next dinner. I think I ate too much... I probably need some kind of diet supplements now.

Actually, my brother-in-law gave me and hubby two tablets of whatever that was to give me strength for today. I took it with water that has cellfood in it. He told me if I didn't have it, I would feel more tired than I am now. Good thing to have thoughtful brother-in-law. I am thankful for him.

Emergency

We had to cut our family trip short for about 8 hours. There was an emergency back home that we had to come back, by hook or by crook. And of course, we had to buy new airlines ticket because our air tickets that I bought last year was on promotion. So we couldn't move it to an earlier date. And yes, we used our credit card again. I really didn't mind because this was a real emergency. I am going to write more about it later.

We actually paid a lot for this morning's ticket. Good thing we haven't reached our credit limit yet. Otherwise, we'll be in big trouble again financially... which would mean requiring us to do some kind of debt consolidation.

I am so tired now. But I can't sleep coz my kids are still awake. Hopefully they will sleep soon. I also need to put up our yummy sunday soon. So please bear with me.

Today is Easter Sunday. All Christians around the world are commemorating and celebrating Jesus' Resurrection. Not sure how easter eggs and bunnies made their way to Easter celebration. Will have to google that later.

I stole some eggs for this Sunday's entry at Alice Restaurant. You might wanna visit her restaurant to see how she did this:

Happy Easter, everyone!

Another Holiday

Yes. There's another holiday coming our way. I have booked our air tickets last year when air asia offered 0 airfare. We have told the kids' teachers already about this trip. Of course, they're not happy that the kids would miss a lot of things while away. But we asked them to give homework to the kids (especially my boy) so we could do it while holidaying. I am thankful that God has blessed us so much with friends that bless us as well. One of our friends gave us a free hotel stay, a 4-start hotel stay in Langkawi, for 5 days. So yes, we are going to Langkawi for our next holiday. The cat is out of the basket finally. LOL. I saw in the internet that Langkawi has some unique hotels. I am glad we're staying in one of those. Ain't God great? He is awesome, indeed.

New Laptop

I need a new laptop. The one I am using will have to go off soon. To where? To Pakistan. It's supposed to be given to one of the workers in Pakistan. I have been using it for a while now... well, after my laptop crashed and the computer guy said it would be expensive to fix it might as well buy a new one. Now I am scouting for a new laptop, not that I can afford to buy one. Well, I just window shopped for a computer to find out which computer I would like to have. You never know... God might send somebody again my way and decide to bless me with a laptop. I saw this red Sony Vaio. It does look really cool. And I saw others which were cool too. The problem with window shopping is that you would get confused with the selection. There are just too many to choose from. But of course, you can narrow down the selection by choosing which type you need and which type suits you the best.

Moving Out

I am excited. I am preparing to move out. NOT! Well, we only have less than 3 months to move out. I haven't done anything yet. Last time when we moved in this house, I started preparing, organizing, boxing in some of our things 6 months before we moved out. Now I haven't done anything yet. I realize that I have so many things to do. I must scrape off the writings that my girl did on our wall. It's all over the house. I must fix one of our door knobs because somehow, I don't know which of my kids did it, the knob just gets stuck. And I couldn't find the right key to unlock it. I have to give away a lot of things. But of course, I can only do this next month, after we get back from our trip. So exciting. Again, NOT!

Finally Working

We went to Sunway Pyramid yesterday. I really had to buy the baby doll. I went back to the same shop, Toy City. I asked them first whether their machine was working already. They said yes. So I went to take the baby doll for my girl and the medical kit for my son, walked to the cashier and gave my card again. It was really impossible if my card wouldn't work. I was very sure that we haven't reached the credit limit yet. I have asked hubby to talk to one of CIMB's credit report services. It is truly annoying that the inconvenience you thought of using credit cards suddenly inconveniences you. Well, I was glad it was working and I was able to buy the toys for my kids. Finally.

My Accountant

I am not so much into financial terms. I am not an accountant. I don't deal with mortgages, insurance lead generation, life insurance, etc. Hubby takes care of them. He's the accountant. He pays for the bills. He budgets the incoming and outgoing household income, except my income of course which is solely for entertainment for the family. He pays all the bills online that's why it is easier that he does it. He pays for our insurances as well. In the Philippines where I grew up, it is usually the wife who does the budgeting... I think. That's the case with my family. But with my own family now, I don't do it. But I am not complaining. It is less burden to take care of.

This week's theme for Mommy Moments is "Kids in Costume."

I haven't sent my kids to any costume parties or programs yet. But last year, for their school holiday, Q-Dees (my kids' school) organized an art camp for their students. I sent my boy for a 3-day art camp. At the last day when I picked him up, he looked like this... You can tell he was very embarrassed. But I told him he looked so cute.

Samantha's Show

Q-dees will have a FLIPTECH Showcase again on Saturday. They do this annually to show the parents what the kids learn for the first quarter of the school year. It will be my son's second time, my girl's first time. When we discussed about this today with the teacher, she told us she wasn't sure whether the kids could perform but they will anyway. I am excited. If ever this will be Samantha's performance. I just need to quickly buy sd card reader. My card reader has been missing and I have a lot of files waiting to be downloaded from my sd card. I will be taking a video of the presentations. So I am really hoping to get a new card reader.

Oily Skin

I have an oily skin. Everytime I wake up and look at the mirror, I look in disgust at the oil my face has produced overnight. My hubby on the other hand thinks I'm at my most beautiful moment when I just wake up. He would always compliment my oily skin. He thinks it's healthy. Women think otherwise. So we wash our face immediately after waking up, aside from the fact that it helps prevent skin breakouts, our face would look better too. Ladies, agree or not?

Anyways, my husband just read one of my articles about my problem with my skin before because I used to break out a lot. But he noticed nowadays I don't anymore. It's really a matter of taking care of your skin. You do your daily regime religiously and you are on your way to a smoother, beautiful skin. You may not need to do microdermabrasion for your skin. But of course, if you're in a hopeless situation, you may consider doing it.

Meeting with the Teacher

Today we went to school to meet with Samantha's teacher. No she didn't call us to complain. We are going for another holiday next Saturday so we won't be around for the scheduled parents-teacher meeting. So we asked whether we could meet earlier. And today was it. It was nice to hear the teacher's report for Samantha... her progress and development in school and how she interacts with other children. I realized that they haven't started teaching the kids how to read. This time, for their age, they only play, do a bit of arts and crafts, coloring, and nothing serious. I am glad to know.

The teacher was so passionate about her job. And I appreciated her for that. She then asked me whether I would consider going for work. I said, probably... but not too soon. Maybe in the future... maybe take up some banking jobs or teaching jobs. LOL. Whatever. I'll play it by ear.

We came home happy and contented with the report. Glad we didn't pull Samantha out from school. I almost did.

Flowers in Cameron Highlands

Another thing I appreciate about Cameron Highlands is the flower species. You can actually see a variety of flowers. I took some photos of the flowers that caught my fancy. Hope you enjoy them.

Beautiful red rose which you can find and purchase at the Rose Valley

Cacti which you can find and purchase at the Cactus Valley

Hibiscus is everywhere in Malaysia. It is Malaysia's national flower. I took this photo because I was interested to see the bi-colored (red and yellow) flower.

Antorium from Winter Home (the place my group stayed at)

And beautiful red hydrangea which I found in front of our hotel at Cameronian Holiday Inn.

Of course, I got my bunch a month from there too. I get a bunch of flowers from my hubby once a month. He bought me a bunch of red roses during this trip. I am truly a sucker for flowers.

Welcome to the 21st edition of Yummy Sunday.

When hubby and I were in Cambodia, we stayed in a Korean Hotel. You can bet they served Korean food specially Kimchi. I love Kimchi so I didn't mind.

What do you have to show off this week? Again, thanks for joining us at Yummy Sunday. Don't forget to visit other entries as well. Have a good week, everyone!

Where To Next?

Machu Picchu travel? I wish so. Machu Picchu is located in Peru. So here I am, wishful thinking again. But who knows? If I save enough for this trip, we might be able to go there. But of course, it would take years to save up because it would mean flying to South America.

Like what I have been blogging since last year, my first half year is filled with travels (thanks to my bloggy earnings). We were in Phuket on the first 3 days of this year, planned on climbing Mt Kinabalu in February but because of the complications of my passport renewal (which found me in Manila, Philippines for 2 weeks), it was cancelled but I went to Kota Kinabalu nevertheless. Then hubby tagged me along to Cambodia in March for 8 days and of course, our recent trip was in Cameron Highlands for 5 days which was two weeks ago.

Where to next? It is yet to be revealed. *big grin*

Mommy Moments - Special Day

Schenker's 4th Birthday

It was the grandest birthday we gave for him, on his 4th Birthday. We decorated the house with Thomas and Friends theme. Here he was waiting for his guests to arrive.

That was the first time I baked birthday cupcakes. I've been baking cupcakes ever since. And started loving it. I am usually not a cake person but when I started baking cakes, I have started loving them and you bet that I would need to pop in some diet pills. LOL.

The highlight of the party was the presence of the clown who entertained everyone. It was so fun that even my girl overcame her fear of clowns. And when I asked her who to invite for her birthday, she exclaimed: clown! Which I never did because it was a bit pricey to have a clown for a birthday party. But of course, once she has friends of her own, we will definitely get a clown for her birthday party.
