I am still on the lookout for the sequel of the Thai movie First Love (Crazy Little Thing Called Love) starred by the cuties Mario Maurer, Pimchanok Luewisedpaiboon, Tukkie. I watched the movie last year when a blogger friend recommended it.

Funny coz I watched it a few times.
Last night, while the hubs and the daughter were still in Thailand, I was kind of feeling a bit down so I decided to watch the movie again. I just love that movie. I also love the composition of the videography (not sure what the right term is). I was kind of wishing I was watching it with a 5.1 home theater system but oh, well, is it free to dream. So yeah, I am dreaming on. LOL.

One of the best movies I have watched so far this year was New Year's Eve. It's a star-studied movie. It's a chick flick and yet a decent movie. You can rarely watch chick flicks nowadays that are quite decent, I should say. The movie speaks of love and romance and the reality of couple's lives.

I don't think I understand people at all. I watched it despite all the bad reviews and I didn't regret it. I'm starting to think people are really bitter, it's a really sweet movie about new years and how people feel around that time of the year, it actually gave me a warm feeling, so yes, it's not a deep smart full of effects movie, but sometimes people need a movie like this, I'm all against unchallenging movies, but I don't think this was the case at all. I was watching the latest Transformers movie, Dark of the Moon and I couldn't help but notice this one hot car. Mercedes Benz SLS AMG.

It was supposed to be a gift for Carley from her boss Dylan (played by Patrick Dempsey) but it turned out to be Soundwave, one of the Decepticons.

Just found out the LOTR crew got to New Zealand to shoot The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey in June this year.

I had goosebumps all over. It brings so much Lord of the Rings Trilogy crazy memories. And yes, I think, I am going to get crazy again.

A friend sent us a message. Puss in Boots in One Utama, free tickets, on November 22nd, would we like to watch? Of course we would. I know the kids would love it. The showing will be at 9:30pm but well, the kids don't have classes anymore so it's okay, I suppose.

"Puss in Boots", is a 3D animated adventure film produced by DreamWorks Animation, the makers of the "Shrek" series. Directed by Chris Miller ("Shrek the Third"), and produced by Guillermo del Toro ("Splice", "Blade II", "Pan's Labyrinth"), the feature stars Antonio Banderas as Puss and Salma Hayek as the love interest, Kitty. The film is based on and follows the character of "Puss in Boots" from "Shrek" and his adventures before his first appearance in 2004's "Shrek 2". The prequel's story centers on the swashbuckling cat and how he comes to meet Shrek and his friends, while introducing its colorful new characters.



I am excited to watch Puss in Boots with the kiddos.

And who doesn't like Tom Cruise' Mission Impossible movies? I have seen all and glad to know there is going to be another one coming out soon.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Ethan Hunt and his team are to be blamed for the attack, but are allowed to escape as part of a plan to enable them to operate in the dark, outside of their agency. Ethan (Tom Cruise) is then forced to work with ex-IMF agent Brandt (Jeremy Renner), who knows more about Hunt and his past than even Hunt himself.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

The first book I read (courtesy of my friend Joe Williams) after watching The Fellowship of the Rings, the first in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was The Hobbit. So when I heard that Peter Jackson was going to do the movie, I was ecstatic.

What's more amazing is that they're filming The Hobbit in 3D. I am quite excited for it to come out... which will be in December 2012. That is quite a long way to go but still...

Also, since The Hobbit is shot in 3D, they're using 48 Red Epic Digital Cameras. I dunn o what it means but it just spells high technology making of the movie The Hobbit.

And so what have I been doing to prepare myself for The Hobbit? I watched The Lord of the Rings Trilogy which I finished watching last night. I bought myself one set of LOTR Trilogy that -of course- includes The Fellowship of the Rings, The Two Towers and The Return of the King... all original and all extended versions. Yeah, I know I spent quite a bit on this trilogy but I am sure it's worth investing and keeping this set. One day, I'm going to watch the trilogy with my kids, when they're ready.

I hope next year, in December 2012, when The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey comes out, they will be ready to watch it with me.

Synopsis:

First of Peter Jackson's two-part epic fantasy film, adapted from the 1937 J. R. R. Tolkien novel of the same name. "Lord of the Rings" director Jackson returns and also serves as producer and co-writer. "The Hobbit" follows the journey of titular character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Anyways, my sister and I can't wait to watch Edward and Bella's wedding at Breaking Dawn part 1. Is Edward going to give Bella one of those titanium wedding bands ? LOL. I am so into that story. Of course, not as much as the first time I read the books and watched the first Twilight movie installation. I guess I have mellowed down a lot. But since my sister is still into it, I kind of happy to go with her flow. ;)

Breaking Dawn Part 1 is showing on November 18th in the US. Just not sure when it's going to be shown in Malaysia. But I and my sister are definitely going to watch it. :D

The Avengers, which is showing on May 4, 2012, is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based upon the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name.

I wanna watch the Marvel Superheroes movies again though. I watched Captain America with my sister a couple of months ago at TGV Sunway Pyramid. We watched Thor on DVD that's connected to TV with long hdmi cables last month. I also watched Iron Man 2 with the hubs awhile back.

Really... The Avengers, basing on the trailer, spells A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

I just got into it. I know a lot of people were talking about this movie a few month's back. Curiosity got into me. It always does, by the way... And so when I got the chance, I bought some peanuts, coke... put the kids to sleep early, and put the movie on.

I was so excited to see Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. It looked a bit romantic and funny and witty... but wait... I just realized it's one of those Hollywood movies that I wouldn't want to show my kids. Sigh.

Looks like the movie is endorsing some other drugs. I wouldn't be surprised that before the movie finishes, they already invented some drugs that could take away nicotine, especially from those cotinine test positive people.

But then again, I'm half-way through the movie. So I wouldn't know now. I better finish the movie now.

I got to watch Burlesque with the hubs today at Summit USJ, GSC Cinema.

The Burlesque Lounge has its best days behind it. Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the venue, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. With the Lounge's troupe members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman's quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether. Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque. Backed by newfound friends amongst the theater's crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali's big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue. source: imbd.com

Burlesque is starred by the famous singers Cher and Christina Aguilera. It's my first time to take a close look at Christina actually. LOL. And I thought she's quite cute.

Anyways, the story was quite entertaining as it really shows the life in Hollywood. Not that I have ever lived in Hollywood and I knew how they lived.

But I had a chance to walked around Hollywood and thought you could do anything you want and nobody would care.

Then there was Rodeo Street where there was a shopping haven for the well off... I could only look and wish from afar. But I saw this scene - an old white man driving a convertible. He was driving around Rodeo Street. I knew because we were waiting for our friend to pick us up. Then he stopped right in front of that Louis Vuitton Boutique and minutes later, there were three ladies that came, hopped into the convertible and drove he did, all of them giggling and what not. Just an ordinary scene in Hollywood, I guess.

And so while watching Burlesque, I could relate in some parts where she did some dance practice while walking on the streets.

Anyways, if you want to be entertained, go watch Burlesque.

No, we're not going to Australia (though I wish we are). But I saw the movie Australia by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. It was quite an interesting story... like it says a lot about Australia's history... and the tribal people called Aboriginals. I didn't know that they had intermarriages between English and Aboriginals, but the result was mixed. So they were not white, they were not black either... kind of brown. That's where the complications started. But it's not where the story revolved. I'm not gonna tell you the story. Go check it out yourself.

I actually watched the movie from my computer and resulted in strained neck. I watched it from my computer because the DVD didn't wanna work in the dvd player. Nowadays, with the convenience of watching movies from portable players, who would need a big screen? Or who would need tv stands to put the big screen on? I probably would still need them. It's always better to watch dvd movies on TV.

I know there's a kiddie inside me. I always like kiddie books and kiddie movies, especially that of Disney movies. I have seen countless disney movies but I can tell you my top 15 favorites Disney movies and with my favorite characters for each (not necessarily on order though):

Tarzan - Trazan and Jane

The Incredibles - Elastigirl

The Three Musketeers - I saw this a long time ago but I still love it now

Prince Caspian - The Chronicles of Narnia - I loved the movie as much as I loved the book.

Remember the Titans - I watched this for 50,000 times. Hehehe. I loved Denzel Washington as Coach Boone. This is a very inspiring movie. Not a kiddie movie but it encourages kids to dream and pursue that dream with determination.

The Emperor's New Groove - Pacha (the real cool guy)

Enchanted - a mix of real people characters and animated ones - Princess Giselle was adorable here.

Finding Nemo - Nemo was everybody's favorite but mine was Dory. She cracked me up to the brim.

I know I am so outdated with movies since kids came along. But old movies are great to watch too. Our recent family movie was "Flushed Away." It is an animated movie which was released two years ago but we only saw it last week. My son absolutely loved the movie. He was laughing like crazy and asking me questions like why worms can talk and all that. Hehehe. Actually it is another rat story in which a rat called Roddy (voice by Hugh Jackman) was flushed down in a toilet and landed in a sewer beneath London from his pent-house where he lived extravagantly with humans. Life among other rats was totally different from his wealthy life... but like most feel good movies, he met and fell in love with Rita (voice by Kate Winslet).

Watching movies with family is a great way to relax and have that bonding time. It helps release stress gained from busy-ness at work or even just doing things at home. But of course, we cannot be sitting all the time, otherwise we would be needing some fat burners to burn those extras we gained for sitting too much without doing anything.

One of my favorite Hollywood actresses is Julia Roberts and she had lines she used which were unforgettable and could really get attention.

Take this, on "Steel Magnolias" movie as Shelby : “I’d rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special.”

Who can forget this: “I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” (“Notting Hill” as Anna Scott).

But the best attention catching line was this: “I guarantee that we’ll have tough times and I guarantee that at some point one or both of us will want to get out. But I also guarantee that if I don’t ask you to be mine, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life ‘cause I know in my heart you’re the only one for me.” (“Runaway Bride” as Maggie Carpenter).

All these lines can be used in real life, I tell you, especially the last line where a guy can use this line to propose to a girl he wants to marry. Those are bone chillers and could get you somewhere. But have you tried playing the flirting championship by ? I tried going there but I guess I'm not that flirty enough. LOL. My opponent left me! Last night, I and kids had a movie time while waiting for daddy to come home. I thought of watching definitely, maybe, the movie, as I heard from others that it was good. Of course, as you can see, i'm a bit outdated as this movie came out last June 2008 only. Anyway, as the saying goes: better late than never, so I watched it. Ryan Reynolds acted as Will Hayes, a 30-something Manhattan dad in the midst of a divorce when his 10-year-old daughter, Maya (Abigail Breslin), started to question him about his life before marriage. Maya wanted to know absolutely everything about how her parents met and fell in love. This is probably a typical American setting. Imagine s3x education being taught among 8-year olds already. And to think that Maya was the one who pushed her dad to be "happy" was quite unbelievable. Will Hayes was also telling his daughter all his flings and things he did which was quite taboo to tell to a very young girl. Thumbs down, but of course, it was entertaining.

Well, the good thing was, my kids didn't really stay on and watch. They went on their own, playing with their toys, while I was nicely watching the movie. I watched the movie without being interrupted. That's a good thing. I wonder if I was sitting on one of those discount home theater seatings, I would probably have a grander movie time.

finally, i saw prince caspian, another movie series from the chronicles of narnia. it was as it was written. i have read almost all the chronicles and i read this one. although it's not my favorite story in the series but i am glad i saw the movie already. i wasn't able to see in the cinema. only in the computer using dvd. the fight between peter and the evil King Miraz reminded me of the fight between the boy David and the giant Goliath. As how most of the stories end, the good won over the bad. i must say that the making of this movie is better than that of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe.

i love watching movies. but right now, i can only watch most of them from the video. it's nice to have a video card to record all the videos. but for now, it's buying the dvd that is most convenient. i am looking forward to seeing another series of narnia, which is "the boy and his horse." that is my favorite story of the chronicles.

Got some friends to come over and take care of kids yesterday. Hubby and I had once again, got time to go out. Went to Tony Romas at Sunway Pyramid. I had that bountiful steak again with tomato pesto and french fries as sidedishes.

DH had the lamb steak, medium done. It was great as I had one of the cuts.

After dinner, we watched the movie "The Forbidden Kingdom" by Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Loved the movie. You know when it's Jackie Chan it's a must-see movie. I'm glad we had that time to go out and watch the movie at the cinema. Thanks to Alve, Mian and Tram. You guys are angels.
