The Next Recording Star

It’s really nice to know that at the present time, we don’t really have to be a professional singer to record our own album. Even at the convenience of our home, we can do it for as long as we have a fast track pro which is a device that will allow us to record with great results anytime.

Promotion of the recorded tracks will not be a problem too because You Tube is readily available for this purpose. Who knows, you might just be the next You Tube sensation who will conquer the world of show business.

Limited Computer Playtime

As much as possible I don’t want my kids to be too exposed with technology. I am talking about computers which can really divert their attention from school works. Computer games can be too addictive that’s why I am trying to buy some board games they can play together. Scrabble is really a good game to develop their vocabulary.

Right now, I am looking for the best selection of jigsaws to enhance more their thinking skills. Of course, I still allow them to play computer games once in a while but I set specific limits for them to strictly abide otherwise they will lose their rights in playing PC games for the whole week.

For a Friend

I have a very good friend way back in high school who’s really good at playing the guitar. And since we got connected through Facebook, he never stopped asking me for cool effects pedals for his guitar which I promised to give him come Christmas time. For sure he would be very delighted to get it especially that party time is really imminent. It will be very useful when he plans to go around the neighborhood to do caroling.

A Perfect Christmas Gift

I am in the mood of making my Christmas gift list for my family and friends around here and back home. I know it is still three months to go before the Christmas season but I am trying to avoid the rush which, by the way always happens to me. So for now, I’m trying to list down names and what possible gifts shall I give them. For my kids, I’m considering asking them what they would like to have while for my hubby, I’m thinking of that Joe Rodeo Watch I once saw online. I thought it was a perfect Christmas gift for him.

Earthquake Tuesdays at Swensen's

They have been doing this for years. Swensen offers half a price for Earthquake ice cream on Tuesdays. Hubby and used to go a lot for this promotion. Last Tuesday, we went there again to have another dose of temptation sugar. LOL.

I think I deserve another sugar ice cream after holding myself off from carbohydrates. I don't shun carbs entirely. I would still have it from time to time, especially when I get invited for a dinner and they serve pasta. LOL. It's my weakness and I can't simply say no to a good pasta (like the one I had last night). I loved it so much I wanted to eat more. But the self-controlled (or what's left of the control) me took over. I am glad.

Anyways... yeah.. if you're so into ice cream and you want to indulge, you may visit Swensen's at Subang Parade on Tuesdays and pay half the price for 8 scoops of ice cream (your choice of flavours) and don't forget to invite me because even if I'm on carb/sugar restricted diet, I still won't say no to earthquake ice cream at Swensen's.

Protein Diet, is it Good for You?

There are a lot of people doing protein diet that results to weight loss. But is protein diet good for you?

According to what I read, it is good only for short term diet plans as having too much protein can lead to some health risks. And if you are into it, you might want to use sphygmomanometer to regularly check your blood pressure.

If you are healthy, you can do protein diet for six months or less.

Why is prolonged protein diet risky for your health? For one, it helps increase the risk for a heart disease. Protein diet is also not good for kidney as prolonged use can cause kidney failure.

If you are doing protein diet, make sure you increase your fibre intake, low-fat dairy products, whole grain carbs, and if chicken is included in your diet, make sure it is skinless.

Protein diet is good but make sure you check with your doctor first before you start your journey into a slimmer you.

Of course, don't forget to exercise, too!

Blogging class.

On Friday, which is the independence day of Malaysia, my lovely students came over to my house for blogging class. Just three of them, Huiying, Victoria and Natasha. I offered to teach them how to blog and increase their blog views.
I cooked spaghetti for lunch, and they came over just in time. We had sparkling juice for drinks. We all chit-chat a little which we were at the dining table, and we had a great time.
After cleaning up, the class begins! I told them to get a Google account first, then create a blog. They all had a hard time thinking about what to name their blog. Finally, they have made up their minds and created their blogs. After that, I taught them how to create a post, and they have already had ideas for what they wanna write about. What genuis students!
Well, then I taught them what's page rank and alexa. They got it really fast, and they're doing really well with their blogs so far. I'm really proud of them!

And if you're interested, you can go visit their blogs.
