I signed up for payperpost. I did last week when my family and I were on holiday. One day I was just sitting by the pool, waiting for my dear husband and kids to get off the pool and the thought of applying this blog for PPP just came. I got an answer the other day that this blog was approved. That was a good news indeed.

PPP is one of the best sites that offers you to pay for what you love doing which is blogging. This is a great way to earn money, considering that I am just staying at home, doing nothing. I mean, not doing career jobs at all. You know, we, SAHM's, just stay at home, take care of kids and sometimes, when we have time, we blog. And what better way to pass up our time with than blogging, especially on our kids development and such? And what better way to earn money than just blogging about the things we love? Indeed, payperpost is here to make it happen.

PPP has a way to bring advertisers and bloggers together. It is a hub for both. Advertisers can increase traffic to their websites that offer products and have bloggers publish their products and at the same time, bloggers will be paid to write reviews about their products. I am looking forward to writing reviews and get paid at the same time. It's fun and exciting!

and he says "i love you mommy"

i am participating in: PPBC (I have missed two articles. hope this one can still join) the question is:

how do my kids say they love me?

for my son, he started saying he loved me on his own when he was 2 years old. the first time i heard it, it came as a surprise. we were lying down on the bed, i was gonna put him to sleep and suddenly, out of the blue, he said "i love you, mommy." took me a long time to sleep that night. ever since he started saying that, that would be our nightly ritual before he goes off to sleep. he's now 3.5 years old. and he never missed to say i love you to his daddy and me. however, you know you would start getting nervous when one night, he told me "i love you, mommy... i love my friend also."

for my daughter, she's only 1.5 years old so she cannot say the words yet. i'm still teaching her how to say it: I (ayyy) love (tab) you (km!!!) hehehe. my son could could copy that perfectly well. my girl loves giving hugs and kisses. that's when i know she says she loves me.

children learn by example. we can teach them to say this 3 magic words by saying them often, to them or to each other as a couple.

before my husband left for KK (kota kinabalo, east malaysia), i thought i was going to be internet deprived for 4 days. my notebook was locked when unknowingly, my girl reached for it and pressed whatever keys she was pressing that caused the cursor to lock. i tried opening, shutting down, re-opening and reshutting down just to know whether to check the cursor. but nothing happened. and so the good news came when my husband was preparing to go. i simply opened my notebook and and suddenly, it worked! but then it took forver to open it. i know i should increase its ram (random access memory). that would be my next project.

tying a saree

do you know how to tie a saree? or do you even know what saree is? saree is a 9-12 yard piece of cloth that can clothe women, especially indian women. but of course, there are lots of women outhere (not of indian origin) that wear saree. i for one, love wearing saree. it makes me feel really beautiful and presentable. i used to wear a saree in all the functions that my hubby and i have gone to. that was before i got this special extras hanging in my tummy part. hehehe. now with my brother-in-law's wedding coming up, i know that i have to wear a saree. maybe i do a colon cleanse to be able to lose those extras in the middle part.

my husband has gone to east malaysia for a meeting. so i have been home alone (with kids and a guest from Brazil) for two days now. he was actually planning to take me and the kids again but we were thinking that we better not because sh v enker would miss his school again. he missed school for 5 days when we went to kuantan two weeks ago. and besides, we had parent-teacher's meeting today. better not miss this important meeting.

before my husband left for Kota Kinabalu, we were sourcing out for nice hotels in KK. we found some nice ones, but not sure whether they have better ones than that of reno hotels. anyways, better or not, he ended up staying in a friend's house who offered him when they knew he was coming to KK. thank God for friends.

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name”
~ Psalm 100:4 (NIV)

God is awesome. His grace and mercy overflow forever. I just wanna thank Him for being amazing and wonderful. His glory reigns forever and ever!

This week, I am grateful for:

  1. Our church - although we have different speakers every Sunday, it doesn't affect God's spoken words through Godly people. And His words do strike my heart everytime.
  2. my paid blogging - i have been blessed with opportunities to earn from writing.
  3. hubby's colleague's wife - for cooking chicken curry for me. today, my hubby asked me to go with him to the office because his colleague brought some food. awesome.
  4. my son's first suit - we've been looking for a tuxedo for my son to wear for my brother-in-laws wedding next month. The first time we scouted for a shop to buy, we found some tuxedos. tried on him but they had different sizes other than his size. we tried a coat and tie for him. he looked absolutely handsome! we bought the set of coat and tie instead. i am grateful that we came to the right place the first time. saved us from walking and looking around.
  5. mian and tram and ivana for being with us this week.
What are you grateful about this week?

Kuantan

Kuantan is a beautiful place. It is a small town like Port Dickson or Melaka but the beaches are gorgeous. I didn't know Malaysia has this beautiful beaches also. I had been a fan of Phuket beaches and the island beaches that surround Phuket. The beaches that I have gone here in Malaysia (before Kuantan) were only in Port Dickson, Damai Laut and Melaka.
They weren't really inviting and besides there were a lot of stings I get everytime I dip into the water. The beachside of Kuantan was so wide. The kids were running around as much as they could. It was a very relaxing break for me and Peter as we didn't really have to run after our kids, worrying they might suddenly go into the water and drown themselves.

Making money from blogging is so in nowadays, especially when you don't have any career jobs, you stay at home and yet want to earn at the same time. My motivation for starting a blog was for pure fun or something I can pass up my time while staying at home, taking care of kids. Also, I love journaling my day to day experiences. When I discovered about online journaling, I got very excited and started a blog. I didn't know then that I was gonna end up earning from what I love doing. Now it's more fun. I have been making money from my blog for 6 months now and I can say that it is really worth spending time blogging.

But what if you're an advertiser? Would you want your products featured on the famous blogs? Do you have a car to sell, or even used products like handbags, watches, jewelries that you want to advertise and sell? SocialSpark.com is also here to help you. SocialSpark.com is now becoming like a hub not just for bloggers but for advertisers as well. Bloggers can earn while doing reviews or by having their (our) blogs sponsored and ADVERTISERS can increase traffic and sales to their products by publishing products on blogs. It's indeed a great way for advertisers to publish their products. And for my end, it would be nice to see my favorite things (i.e. line of cosmetics, clothes and food) be published on my blog. I would love to sell some things online someday. And it's nice that I could do that at SocialSpark.

price hike

I have been in watch for the prices soar since the petrol price hike. The prices of commodities have indeed increased... in scarily higher price! The petrol price increase itself came up to 40%. The fish that I used to buy for 3RM is now 7RM. It is shocking! We have been warned a few months back about the rice crisis. Now I know that it's not the crisis in rice, but the cost increase crisis it would be incurred since there was going to be petrol price hike. Nowhere you can go now that there's no increase in price except the life insurance rates. Thank God we can still afford something and be insured too.

I'm finally into it. I signed up for Social Spark I was approved. I am excited because I believe that Social Spark is the best company to do business with. Not only that, they offer social networking too where you're able to meet new friends, connect with them and just plain network with them. Actually, it took me a long time to decide to join. I thought that it was just another social networking scheme and I thought I had a few of those social networking accounts already. To add another one will just take my time and all that. But when I realized my friends were enjoying SocialSpark and earning at the same time, I tried joining in too since I have been monetizing my blog already. I have signed up and now I am finally in!

Now, what is SocialSpark, you may ask? It is a way to earn through writing reviews and at the same time, helps us connect to other bloggers. What a great way to increase traffic in our blogs! And what a great way to increase our earnings as well. They have great features in such that there's 100% audit-able in-post disclosure. So we will know for sure that the post is a review. It also offers 100% transparency, 100% real opinions from bloggers who have joined, and the best thing is, it's 100% search engine friendly.

What do we do to be able to join? Just go to their website at Social Spark, register your self, submit your blog. Then you will have to install a claim blog and itk codes and just sit and relax and wait for them to review your blog. Once your blog is approved, you may start kicking off and make more friends and of course, more money online. It's that simple. I have joined. Would you like to join the band wagon too?

This is my first entry for Thankful Thursday... So I wanna begin by thanking:

  • God for the blessings He had given us. I believe that He does bless us to reflect His glory.
  • My hubby for being so wonderful, loving, understanding and above all loves God with all his heart.
  • My kids. Both of them are just wonderful and adorable. I couldn't ask for better kids.
  • My family back home for being thoughtful and supportive.
  • My friends.
For this week, I am thankful for:

  • Friends who gave us a holiday package for free in Damai Laut last week and our upcoming holiday next week in Kuantan at Swiss Garden hotel, for 5 days.
  • For Ivana, a lady from Brazil who has come to stay with us for a month. I was hesitant to have her at first coz I thought it would be an added burden coz I was already busy taking care of two kids. Glad we are having her now. She's very thoughtful and helps me around the house and helps me with the kids too.
  • For a free lunch at Gems (Indian Restaurant) last Sunday. I really missed Gems and they have great Rice Briyani plus yoghurt drink. I love their food. An american friend went with us to church and took us for lunch after church.

my eyes

our eyes are the windows of our soul. they reflect what we're thinking and feeling inside. by looking at a person's eyes you would know his emotions, whether he's happy or sad. eyes cannot deny whatever is inside. they cannot talk, and yet they cannot lie. others might fake a smile but when you look deeply into their eyes, you would see the truth.

here's the side of one of my eyes. yaiks. is that a smiling line or sign of age? whatever that is, most women are concerned with our coming of age... and the sign. yeah, i'm talking about wrinkles. no else. they are the number one obvious sign of getting old. if at all we're worried about it, we need to find and look out for the best wrinkle cream there is, yes? that is maybe the best solution for now, especially if we don't have enough budget for surgeries.

do your eyes tell others the truth?

book sale

there's going to be a book sale again next week. it's so tempting to go and buy some. i don't normally go for warehouse sales and all that but when it comes to books, it's kind of hard to miss. books don't lose it's value. we may forget what it says but we can always re-read it and it never change whatever's in there. well, they get old too... but the information you get doesn't. the knowledge we get from books is invaluable and a treasure which nobody can steal. ever.

my weight

after going for a holiday break... i've realized i've been gaining weight. again. arg. this is not good. it's a challenge for me to lose weight and very easy to gain. i have a very slow metabolism i guess. for my first pregnancy, i only started losing weight when my boy was one year old already. with my second, it was a bit easier... but took me a few months to lose it again. a lot of us women want to lose weight fast. some even use pills but i highly recommend to read diet pill reviews for price and effectivity comparison first. can't hurt to take a minute to read reviews, right? saves us our health and money too.

damai laut trip - part 3

the next day:

woke up and went for the buffet breakfast. it was a real treat as they served emmental cheese. yum. i just love emmental cheese. dh is not a big fan of it... but i did indulge in it. after breakfast, we went swimming in the pool. schenker stayed at the kiddie pool most of the time and samantha was in the grown up pool most of the time. we basically spent the rest of the day in the pool and at the beach.

my boy said towards the end of the day that he wanted to go home already. we asked him why. he said he's "full of swimming already." hehehe. he probably meant he's had enough of swimming already.this was how they looked like after a full day's swim. good for them. it was the first time for both to stay in the pool and played at the beach for a very long time. they truly enjoyed their time.

the jacuzzi and sauna:
i went into the sauna room before finally going into the room. i brought with me all my spa materials... spent an hour inside just dumping myself into jacuzzi and having my skin burnt from the dry sauna. hehehe. brought some sea-salt scrub too which i bought from the philippines last year. it was a truly rejuvinating experience. the children activity center is just adjacent to the sauna room so hubby and kids waited for me there and take a peek from time to time. (no photos to be posted here though - all personal. hehehe)
the bath:
since hubby wasn't able to do the sauna, i prepare an oil bath for him. mixed some dried flowers (lavender, rose, marigold and chamomile), olive oil as a carrier oil and some essential oils. i am very careful in choosing essential oils coz there's a lot of fake ones available in the market. you would know they are fake when they don't give you the desired result. i bought mine from the body shop.

the end:
that went our day and the rest of the days we were at damai laut. we were planning to go to taiping to visit taiping zoo there... they have the best zoo in malaysia, i've heard... so i wanted to visit and for the kids to visit too. but we enjoyed damai laut too much we didn't think of going out to go to other places anymore. maybe next time.

the credit:
i just want to thank God for giving us this holiday package for free. imagine staying in a 4-star hotel room for 4 days and enjoyed its facilities - for free. it was awesome. God is awesome. i thank Him for blessing us with friends who gladly bless us too. :) thanks drs. swee ming and kok moi.

the next trip:
and watch out for our next family trip... it's gonna be soon.
