Monday was the beginning of the kids' school holiday. They're going to have a 2-week vacation and so we planned to just stay at home (in Malaysia) and go for day trips for family activities.

And so, yesterday, our plan was to go to Sunway Pyramid TGV Cinemas and watch Kung Fu Panda 2 movie. Of course, the kids watched Kung Pu Panda 1 first (but they've seen it like 50,000 times already). You can tell they were very excited to see the part 2 of the movie where Po joins forces with a group of new kung-fu masters to take on an old enemy with a deadly new weapon.

The movie is a lot of fun with a lot of lessons to learn. It's like valuing who you are now, making the best of it and forgetting what is behind.

We all enjoyed the movie. The cinema was so noisy with laughter and yet nobody really minded. Will have to get hold of a DVD copy of Kung Fu Panda 2. The kids can't wait to watch it again.

Blogging has really evolved these past years. In the so-called blogosphere, bloggers of all sorts abound in the world wide web. Bloggers may have different reasons why they write, some may blog about their personal life, others choose to blog about the entertainment scene, some write to earn money and a whole lot of other reasons. Some devote to technology, others share their expertise in insurance like myinsurancelife.com and some about their children and parenting style.

But no matter what topics are being discussed in blogs, they are a reflection that the internet greatly influenced and impacted our everyday lives. I guess in no time at all, everything will be done virtually.

We sent Samantha to a drama school at Taipan, USJ 10, at Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in January this year, just to try it out. She seemed to be enjoying her time there so we decided to enroll her. She started going once a week for 1 one hour every session.

And so, 6 months had passed and we were invited to a showcase this morning. It was sort of informal, just to show parents what they have learned from the past 6 months.

Samantha did 3 performances and I took videos of all 3. I just finished uploading the first video and here it is:

When there are events like charity shows, walkathons, marathons or just any public event, the organizers usually have t-shirts printed for the particular occasion. Organizers do this to promote the activity itself; it is also a way for sponsors of the event to advertise, as some would like to place company logos on the shirt. Luckily, most participants would love to have a remembrance of any event or activity like t-shirts as they can be used over and over again. 

Having said all those, I got this grey Monkey t-shirt and I am loving it. The quality of the material is thick and yet it's soft. I got the small size and I'm glad I did although I didn't think I was small. I like how the logo was well made. It does look funny though. Everytime I wear it, my kids laugh and they call me monkey mommy. It's good to make kids laugh. :)

Trade shows or trade fairs are ways for companies to promote and showcase their latest products and services. It can also be a venue for the exchange of ideas between companies and where million-dollar deals are closed. It is also a marketing investment for companies since they pay for space rental, design and booth construction. Some pay for extra trade show flooring  for a bigger space, others also add in trade show carpet  for better design and attractive booths.

Companies put out logo mats  to distinct then from others. It is only not through eye-catching booths that companies invest in when joining trade shows; they also shell out money for other marketing tools like brochures, promotional literatures, giveaways and other company stuff to give out to potential buyers and clients.

Some fairs like consumer fairs rent for tents and booths with logo canopy  for identification. All these are marketing strategies to draw and attract customers. When trade fairs and shows are done, the economic development of a city is also often promoted.

I am finally polishing that silver-plated tea set I bought from Vintage Oohs and Aahs in Atlanta.

This tea set brings an interesting story:

When I was in Atlanta, my friend took me thrift shopping a lot and I was really loving it. I guess we have gone to 4 or 5 thrift shops and when I thought we had enough, we passed by a Vintage shop. We thought we just wanted to see what they had.

When we entered, I spotted this old tea seat. I went and looked. And looked. And thought: should I buy it? I was really loving it because of its classic look. But I was worried with my luggage allowance. I left the shop not buying it. Gosh it was only 15$!

We left and arrived home but my thoughts were still on that beautiful silver plated tea set and I thought I'd probably regret all my life not buying it.

My friend Maria was so gracious enough to offer to drive me back.

And so yes, I have it now.

I went to d-i-y store yesterday and found a silver cream to clean the tea seat with.

So now, I am polishing my classic silver plated tea set. :) and I am loving it!

I do have chubby cheeks. I look at the food I love and the first thing that gets bigger are my cheeks and my double chin will surely show.

What I like though is that my face (because it is somehow stretch) becomes glow-y. Hehehe. My husband always compliments me with that.It is also good in a way because my acne scars stretch so they become almost invisible. People who think I have undergone one of those special acne treatments to have a face like this.

But of course, I don't suggest you gain weight like I do. I know I need to do something about this. I have to act fast... or else... I will become like a balloon!

I just miss the times when my kids are still little babies unable to talk and walk. Those were moments when my husband and I were still the whole world for them because they can’t do anything without them. When, they wanted to eat or wanted to dry themselves, they burst out in loud cry to get our attention. I missed the days when they just sleep peacefully in the comfort of my arms.


Now, as they have grown up to be kids, things have become different, young as they are, they already have a mind of their own. There may even times that, they try to do things exactly how they want to do them not minding what I told them. It is but a sign that they are eventually slipping out of our lives.


Well, it’s sad but it is a reality that “our children aren’t ours – they belong to life’s longing for itself” as Kahlil Gibran had it in his poem.

Is it just me or what I see is really true? Have you noticed that people no longer look like their real age anymore? Look at Julia Roberts or Gretchen Barreto for example. Do they look like they are in their early 40s or 50s already? People, especially celebrities have used beauty products that promise healthy and young-looking skin. Others not only use beauty products they endorse but also go under the knife.

Sometimes I think only the rich and famous can afford such luxuries. But technology has drastically improved and now we can remove excess fats without a single cut. Sometimes I wonder whether these products use some kind of hgh releasers or they are simply effective.

One of the activities I really want to do with my family is camping. It can have its own discomfort as we will not be living at home but for sure, it will allow my kids to experience nature in a different way. We will bring a tent, some food to grill like hotdogs and marshmallows, a yamaha generator, loads of water and other necessities.

We will build our tent together. We will gather some dried woods for a bon fire where we will also cook our dinner. After dinner, we will sit outside our tent and star gaze, trying to recognize each constellation. In the morning, we will probably do some trekking to have closer encounter with nature. Ah, if only our busy schedule allows impromptu getaways, even for just once.

Last month, paypal sent me a double payment from the company I work at. It was great to see a double payment but I also knew it wasn't meant for me. I was going to travel that time so I contacted the company and told them about it. I guess the company didn't know what was happening so they didn't reply to me email.

But I went ahead and refunded them the money. The refund period is one month only. Like I said I was going to travel so I went ahead and give them back the money. After I sent the payment, I contacted again the company but I got a reply asking if I was really sure about it.

I was still in the US when paypal sent me an email saying there was error in their part and was going to refund the double payment. I contacted again the company thinking they could stop the refund because I already refunded the money. They said they couldn't do anything about it because it was paypal's error.

And two days ago, when I opened my paypal account, to my horror, I saw a negative amount of money. Paypal took back the double payment.

I tried looking for contact form and glad to find they already have customer service in Malaysia.

I spoke to one of their receptionists and glad that their customer service was very efficient.

She said they were going to put back the money because it was their error. She said it would take 2-4 business days. But one day later, when I checked back my paypal, I was glad to see I had the money back to my account.

That was really a fast response from Paypal Malaysia.

During my recent trip back to the United States, I’ve learned that many of the Americans have been investing their resources to secure their future. With the global recession and the downfall of the American economy, many were enticed to buy gold bars because gold bars and coins do not depreciate in value. The recent March 11, 2011 Japan earthquake and the devastating tsunami it brought made a mark in our history. I was really humbled with what happened to Japan, and yet, the people remained resilient, calm and optimistic. In fact, when I was in Japan just a few weeks ago for a stopover, I couldn’t help but feel sorry and at the same time admire them for their courage and strength as a nation. They’ve been through this during the war times; I know they will get through this too.

I remember promising my son that I will be going with him cycling. But because the bike that my hubby bought was too big for me, therefore me, not being able to reach the pedals, I just couldn’t do what I have promised. What's exciting about them is that they have a whole new approach to cosmetology education. And so going for beauty school in one of their branches will sure benefit a lot, especially when you're in a beauty business.

I am missing London. I know, I just got back from a 3-week long holiday but I can't help it. I have a wanderlust. I want to visit London again. I don't know when for sure but if I am given a chance, it would be next year.

London is the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It is the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom and the largest urban zone in the European Union. It is one of the leading global city with strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. It contains four World Heritage Sites namely: the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the site comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and St. Margaret's Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich. Other famous landmarks include Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, 30 St Mary Axe ("The Gherkin"), St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square. London is home to numerous museums, galleries, libraries, sporting events and other cultural institutions including the British Museum, National Gallery, British Library, Wimbledon and 40 theatres. London is such a rich place to be. No wonder many people, like me, considered London as one of the top vacation sites. Never did I have a single boring day while we were there.



Many tourists flock this city every year and we really though we will have a hard time looking for apartments in London. Gladly, there are plenty of online guides that we were able to use. We settled at Glenthurston, a 4-star apartment graded by London Tourist Board. We chose this because it is ideally located; 5-minute walk from a station; 15-minute ride to London Bridge and 23-minutes to Charing Cross. This place is also very family friendly. It has on-site facilities such as heated indoor pool, sauna, garden, laundry, parking and broadband internet. One time that we did not went out, we enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna.

We stayed in their apartment L which can accommodate 4-5 people. It is a second floor apartment that is fully equipped. Our first bedroom has a king size bed. The other one has a twin bed. We have our own private toilet and bath. We were able to cook our food as we have a kitchen with dining furniture for 6. Our room also has an Oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and lounge. Our towels and linen are also supplied and changed upon request. We do not change it every day since they are not dirty, that way we help in conserving water and energy.

Before our weeklong stay in Glenthurston, we already searched for Cornwall cottages so we can explore the other sites in United Kingdom. We settled in Egloshayle Village. We chose this place for its proximity to the beach. Again, we took a two bedroom cottage in Court Place Cottage that is fully equipped. I adore their kitchen and how I wish I could own that same thing. I have all praises for their cottages and staff because they really did a good job in taking care of their guests and amenities.

I came a couple of days ago from Atlanta to join my husband in Colorado Springs. We are staying at YWAM (Youth with a Mission) Base. The place is overlooking a beautiful picturesque mountain of the Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs.

We went to the Garden of the Gods Nature Center to know more about the Garden of the Gods before visiting the place. They were selling all sorts of souvenirs there. I saw fridge magnets, post cards, different kinds of precious stones. I am not sure whether they're Black diamond earrings I saw but the jewelry there are just soo pretty. I wish I could afford to buy for my girlie...

Anyways, we have visited the Garden of the Gods... I am hoping to drive up to Pikes Peak today. Also, I am praying for a good weather.

I have a friend who just moved to another country to be with her husband that is working there. She and her family was finally reunited after 9 months of waiting. Kids missed their daddy so much! I was touched by their story so I keep on looking at their pictures online. They really missed each other. They are catching up the moments they missed for 9 months being away to each other. They go to the park during weekends. I love looking at their smiles. I can feel how much they missed each other.

It’s really hard to live away from your love ones especially from your kids but some people keep on going abroad just to feed their family, give them some leisure, send them to a nice schools and give themselves at least a low cost life insurance. Mother or Father has to go abroad because of these needs. My friend is blessed to be able to join her husband while working abroad.

Two days ago, my friend, Maria, my host in Jackson, Georgia invited me to join her for America's National Day of Prayer. I was interested to join and pray with fellow Christians, praying for America, the government, school system, etc.

We went to Jackson Square. The prayer was held at Jackson Courthouse Steps. It was beautiful to see Christians from different denominations and churches gather together to pray for America.

I took a video when they sang: God of this City. Truly, we declared our Father God to be God of the City of Jackson:

When I was planning my trip to the US, I asked my friend who's going to host us if I could, one day, cook for them some Indian dishes. I didn't know (before I asked) then that they're crazy about Indian food.

When I knew that they loved Indian food and when they were in Thailand they went for an Indian food almost once a week, I felt some kind of pressure. LOL.

You see, I have only cooked Indian food for the family. I haven't cooked for others yet.. until today.

I am glad it turned out well.

I ate a lot also. LOL.

Back to my Indian dishes... I cooked chicken curry Kerala style, dahl curry and egg curry. I am glad they all liked them. Whew! It was such a relief. I enjoyed being the chef for the night, indeed. :D
