Wedding at The Westin Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Our friend, Kenny's sister, invited us over for her wedding at The Westin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I must say it was the grandest wedding reception I have been so far. I can also say it was the second most memorable wedding reception (mine was the most, of course).

This was just the most beautiful wedding gown I have seen and yes, better than mine. LOL. I love the dramatically intricate design, having real feathers to accentuate the back which matches the ballroom's wedding decors.

My favorite white african daisy a.k.a gerbera was ever present, too.

Heart-shaped thong giveaway was cute.

Red wine.
White wine.
Bottomless.
How grand can it get?

Dinner starter:

The Westin Combination Platter:

Pan seared salt and pepper Foei gras, Mango Chutney, Onion Marmalade, Coffee marinated salmon, Asparagus and baby chicken roulade, spicy tomato salsa, and sun dried scallop brouille egg stuffed in pie tie pastry

Imperial recipe boiled superior NZ fish maw broth, Abalone wanton, Wild Monkey mushroom.

Wok-fried tiger prawn roasted almond butter silken milk osmanthus glaze.

Steamed Atlantic cod fillet, braised asparagus, king crab sauce.

And four more dishes that I forgot to shoot because they looked so yummy I couldn't wait to eat. LOL.

Have I told you it's bottomless wine?

And of course, the champagne was so smooth I could drink it like a water.

Wedding dinner ended with this fabulously prepared dessert:

After endless supply of wine.. who could remember to take down notes on what dessert they served? All I could remember was I savored everything to the last bit, I almost licked the plate smeared with chocolate. LOL!

And of course, the beautiful dance by the lovely couple. It was indeed a night full of romance, great food, wine... and ... emmm...

A night to remember by. Only my husband and I know. ;)

Oh, my husband's friends were the organizers. They did really well. Cheers to you, guys.

And a blessed and blissful marriage, Andrew and Pauline!

Young at Heart

With teaching profession comes many lessons to be learned. I can attest to that. Young as my students are, they have taught me valuable lessons in life. Of course, it has also prepared me to parent teens. My kids are still small, but they’ll become teenagers before I’ll even know it!

It pays to spend time with these young people… listen to their hearts, their dreams and aspirations in life. Many of them don’t really have quality time with their parents, so I am just happy to be there for them. Believe it or not, these young people have also taught me so much about technology! I am coping. I really am! It would not be surprising if I’d have one of those bluetooth stereo headphones one of these days, in fact.

Spending time with young people everyday has made me young at heart. I guess that explains why teachers never seem to grow old. Have you ever wondered about that? I always have. Now I know.

Came home and saw this scene outside USJ 18 area, behind Shell Petrol Station.

Photo

As you can see, the fire spread out so quickly. We had to leave the place.

As to the cause of the fire, it is still unknown. But I am hoping it won't get worse.

There's Shell Station next to it!

Our Family Trip to Australia

Our family went to Australia for holiday last year. Kids enjoyed it so much that until now, they're asking when we're going back to Australia. Worse, they've been asking if we could move to Australia and live there. I wish it's that easy.

What made our Australia trip so memorable?

For one, it was spring when we went there. So it was cool but not cold enough for the kids.

I started planning for our trip one year before our flights to australia. So we had enough time to find out places to go and things to do.

One of the places we wanted to go was Amaze N Things in Philip Island. It's an educational place with lots of mind-boggling stuff for the kids to learn and enjoy.

We also went up to Mount Dandenong Sky High where we could see the whole of Melbourne City.

It was pretty cloudy so this was the best photo I could take.

A friend of my husband took us to some wineries as well. I really enjoyed the tour:

The highlight of my trip was when we drove through The Great Ocean Road, took a helicopter ride and took photos of the famous 12 Apostles.

I really wanna go back there with my family for another holiday trip. I just dunno when we can do this. Hopefully soon, though.

Starbucks Happy Hour @50% Off

We had Public Speaking Competition in school yesterday. Really proud of my class. They were all very impressive.

Went to Sunway Pyramid after the event and decided to hang around there until my husband came home. He was actually coming home from Kuching, East Malaysia.

I was craving for something Starbucks and since I am still on sugar/carb restricted diet, I ordered green tea latte, without sugar... but with artificial sweetener instead. It was still good.

When I paid for it, I didn't even know that it was Starbucks Happy Hour where you get 50% off from your order. It's a good thing I ordered Venti size. LOL.

My first time to order green tea latte from Starbucks and I think I have a new favorite. It used to be java chips, then I moved to to Mocha Praline... This time, it's green tea latte.

Kind of good for my diet. :)
