Fats-Filled Us

It's not just a fats-filled me but a fats-filled us. Why? Because the hubby is in, too. We started doing this Mayo Clinic Diet together 10 days ago. It's more on protein-and-no-carbohydrate diet. What worries me is the fats we're taking in. According to the diet menu plan fats don't produce fats. Fats burn fats. So the more you eat fats, the more you burn fats. Indeed, both my hubby and I had lost weight.

After this 12-day diet, I think I need a colon cleanse or a detox just to flush out all the not-so-good stuff we ate during this 12-day diet. We have two more days to go to finish this plan.

After this, I wanna be healthy again. Like the real Mayo Clinic endorses. To eat all the food in the food pyramid, according to their nutritional value.

... or Jerusalem Diet.

Will have to blog about it soon coz I'm still on the research about it.

Diet Update

Yes, I have started dieting. And if you have a link to my other blog at Janet Speaks, you will see my day-to-day musings regarding my diet. I am, by the way, on my 10th day now. I feel very lightheaded. 12 days is just way too long for me to skip on other food. The good thing about it is, I can still go to my favorite restaurant and eat my favorite food there.

The challenge now is the diet follow-up. I don't wanna lose weight and after the program ends, start gaining again. It would turn my "suffering" into waste. I'm on the lookout for best diet pills too. If you know of any that you think is best, will you let me know?

Anyways, I have 3 more days (that would include today). And I'm so hanging in here. LOL.

Sleeping Early

I'm a night owl. I think better at night. So I do my blogging at night, usually because then I can think clearly. But it's unhealthy because I have to wake up early to prepare my kids to school.

So now, my aim for this week is to sleep early, to make up for sleeping later than usual last week. Last week was really terrible. I know. I was reading a book again. And I'm the type that if I read something interesting, I wouldn't stop until I finish it.

So yes, that would be my goal. To sleep early... at least this week. I did last night. Having enough sleep can be the most natural acne treatment one can have.

Anyways, I have finished reading that book already. So I have no reason to stay up late. I hope.

3 Days in a Row

ABC Ice kacang (Malaysian version of halo halo) is just so cooling. We've been having ice kacang 3 days in a row now. As you've probably know, we are in the midst of moving to another house. We actually moved in already. We're just putting all the things in the right places. After a full day's hard work, you just wanna eat something to cool you down.

We have discovered another restaurant that offers Malaysian Delights called Papparich. And we like their ice kacang so much. Ice Kacang 3 days in a row. I can just imagine how much sugar we've been adding to our bodies. We'll probably need a thorough colon cleanse after all this non-stop eating.

Actually, the image above is not from Papparich. It's an ice kacang from Mydin Food Court. It's my favorite ice kacang in Malaysia.

I am Small

Samantha is a small girl. I mean she's small for her age. Yesterday, when we picked them up from their cousins' house, she was saying something like: Joshua said I'm small. So the grandmother said it's because my sister-in-law let them all stand in line to see their heights. So I had to assure her that it's okay to be small because she's a girl. Girls don't need to be huge.

I used to blame my mother for being chubby. Of course, now I know it's not her fault. But sometimes, whatever we become, we blame our parents... which is not so good to do. I only realize this after becoming a parent myself.

But for Samantha, she has a small structure. She eats very well though. In fact, she's a better eater compared to her brother. But she's just small for her age. I think she has a fast metabolism which is good. She can eat well and yet don't worry about getting fat when she grows up. Of course, if that happens, if she becomes fat and she wants to trim down a bit, I can just tell her to check out weight loss supplement reviews before making any decisions.

As parents, it is our duty to guide our kids. We may not own them but God has given us the responsibility to guide and nurture them. It may be too early to be experiencing peer pressure for my kids now... but I know it's our duty to assure them.

As parents we would like to see our kids grow up with self confidence.

They're Gone!

Thank God they're gone. I mean my zits. LOL. It has been there for a few days and my kids never stopped asking why I had something like those on my face. Kids and their curiosity - you can never stop it. But today, as I looked in the mirror, I saw that the breakouts were already drying up.

Suffice to say, I won't be needing any acne treatment, will I? With my experience having those zits, one can't help but remembering the days when I just didn't know how to stop them from breaking out. It gave me so much insecurities to be honest.

Breakouts are caused by so many things. You can't pinpoint which one is the real cause. It could be the stress, lack of sleep, lack of water, lack of healthy food (too much oil and sugar in the diet), hygiene problem, wrong cosmetics, or could be due to changes in hormones for women that undergo monthly cycle. But of course, the more we are aware the less troubled we become.

In fact, sometimes, we don't need to do anything. Just let them be and one day, you'll wake up and they're gone. Like today. For me. :D

She's So Thin!

She used to be so not so thin. Hehehe. But yesterday, I had a chance to see her again. And she has indeed lost some weight. It's really obvious. She has been blogging about her goal of losing weight. And she is just so disciplined. She has a work-out regime that works for her and she really spends time regularly just to exercise. She's very careful with what she eats too. She's just an inspiration.

For me, I have only been planning... and not doing it. I have always been thinking of checking out the best fat burner so I can probably use it rather than work hard. LOL. Anyways, with my rate of drinking coke like that... who doesn't need one of those?

But truly, Josiet, you're an inspiration.

Nando's

Yesterday, we went to Midvalley Megakidz to meet up with friends Steph and Josiet with their kids. It has been a long time since we didn't go to Megakidz. The kids had fun playing around. Will post pics later. I am actually just waiting for steph to post some pics. Her photos are a lot better than mine.

Anyways, we went to Nando's Restaurant right after Megakidz. The good thing with Nando's is that their sodas are refillable. And you know how much coke I drank? Three big glasses of coke! I just couldn't help it. I was thirsty and it felt so good feeling the ice-cold coke running down my throat. And yes, you bet that I would be seriously considering taking the best diet pills one can ever take. LOL.

Mesothelioma

I'd been reading a lot about Mesathelioma nowadays. It's good that people are becoming aware of this disease. It's always good to know there are Mesothelioma lawyers to take care of the cancer victims. Sometimes there are companies that don't warn their workers about the hazards of asbestos, it's effect on people who are daily exposed to it. Sometimes, it does hurt especially if we don't know what we're dealing with.

Bad Reading Habit

I have a bad reading habit. I read in a not-so- properly lit up room. I read lying down. I read until dawn. My father used to rebuke me for doing so. He used to tell me I was very stubborn. He said if I continued on with my bad reading habit, my eyesight would be affected and I would have to wear eyeglasses.

Not sure if bad reading habit can cause a problem with eyesight. Is it true? Probably for some people it is. Not for me though. I could read and read and read... face computer day and night... but (knock on the wood - hehe) my eyesight is still good. Maybe it's genetic? Not really sure. What do you think guys?

Cheap Eyeglasses

I used to wear eyeglasses before when I was still working. Now I don't wear those anymore. But many of my friends are wearing them. It is amazing to see how different people have different styles when it comes to eyeglasses. Some look really conservative and some look really modern. It all depends on their personality, I believe. If you ask me to choose which style I would wear if I have to wear them, I would chose this one:

And you know what, you can have this stlyish Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! That's really cheap, considering how much you spend just to correct your eyesight problems. Those eyeglasses are available at Zenni Optical. They are very cheap because when you buy, they deliver direct from their own factory so there's no middlemen involved. Zenni Optical eyeglasses are getting famous for their cheap and yet quality products. By the way, have you seen Zenni Optical in the New York Times?!That's how famous they are. If you want to read about it, just click this link: Seeing Straight Without Breaking Bank and you'll see for yourself.

Happy Chinese New Year

Or Gong Xi Fa Chai to our dearest Chinese friends and family. Chinese New Year or CNY has been a grand celebration for Chinese people. All married couples are expected to be giving ang paos (red envelope with money inside, of course) to the children and to the single ones in their family. One thing I like about CNY is the coming of mandarin oranges which is... available only during CNY season. I just love mandarin oranges. I make sure that I buy boxes of them especially this season. And I also discovered my girls loves it too. So now I have somebody to share the madarin oranges with. Anyways, lots of food will be served during CNY. We (me and family) are usually invited by friends for dinners. So this time, I know I'd be stuffed. And to think that I have started with my diet already. Hmmm... it's probably where these weight loss pills can come in handy. Hehehe. Or probably I can start my diet again after CNY. LOL. Anyways, to all our Chinese friends...

Gong Xi Fa Chai!!!

Shocked

Two years, I had a shock when I learned that my uncle's wife gave birth to a baby with a cerebral palsy. It is characterized by abnormal muscle tone, reflexes, or motor development and coordinator. The cause is largely due to lacking of oxygen in pregnancy, birth trauma, central nervous systems infection, water in the brain or certain infections in the mother during and before birth. It's quite sad because if a baby has a cerebral palsy, he cannot survive long. I have read once that there is no cure for CP patients... but of course, there are therapies that can help the patient function and live more effectively. Sad to say that only people who have money can do this. The poor CP patients are left to die early.

i just took out my juicer. it has been in the cupboard for 3 years. we got it from the real rewards. peter has accumulated points that entitled us to get something. we chose the juicer. i only used it once and i kept it in the cupboard. but last week, i took it out. i prepared it for the dinner we had for our wedding anniversary. i prepared some celery, carrots, green apple and red apple. celery juice was a hit for me. i tried searching about the benefits of celery juice and i found out that celery juice with honey can suppress the appetite, especially taken right before meal time. this is a great news for me as my appetite has been so big these days.i actually had been searching for some fat burners and found Anoretix. hehehe. not sure whether i wanna use it or just drink celery juice. hmmm...

My last two posts are all about gaining weight and how to loose that weight. I hope I am not tiring you with my endless rants on me needing a serious dieting. With holiday season coming, and with all the parties we're having at home nowadays, it's a challenge not to join the party and eat. What with all those yummylicious food, one will really have a hard time refusing them. Well, at least, for me... I have a hard time saying no to food. My appetite has increased a lot since I weaned my girl off from nursing. I know that I need to start exercising. But that will be another challenge: to find time to exercise. So probably, the best thing to do is pop in some Phentermine? Not really sure. Maybe, I'll start with my challenge to loose weight by cutting down my food intake. I think it's the better way. And stop complaining about my weight. Enough is enough.

Christmas is Coming

Christmas is just around the corner. I can see malls putting up Christmas decorations already. Sunway Pyramid, for one, has already put up their Christmas decorations. The Egyptian inspired building is loaded with Christmas lights now. You know what Christmas means? It means food, party, more food, more party. And it also means more pounds to carry. Now that I am not nursing my girl anymore, maybe i can take one of those Leptovox already. Then I can eat more during the Christmas holiday season.

Food, Food, and More Food

It's amazing how we complain of gaining weight sometimes and yet we keep on eating and eating. I have been complaining of my weight since I gave birth to my first child. It has never stopped ever since. Why? Because I never stop eating! Sometimes it's hard to loose weight, especially when you're the "chef" in your house. And of course, it's hard to loose weight when we keep eating out. But I think the greatest factor is unhealthy lifestyle (I can hear a lot of "amens" now). So we tend to gain and gain more weight. The next thing we know, we succumb to the easiest way: diet pill. Why not when it's easy to loose weight that way? Well, would you or wouldn't you take it?

My Skin is Aging?

We were at Subang Parade just now. While my girl was in her playgroup with daddy, I went to a pharmacy to get something. There was a lady who approached me and asked if I wanted a free skin test. It was free so I said yes. They had this machine that they used to screen for health problems. It was like an ultrasound in fact. But was amazed me was... they only checked my nail! There was a tiny dot on my nail that meant I lacked Vitamin C. And there was a small white line I saw and the lady explained that I lacked antioxidant in my body. And of course, while explaining all my vitamin deficiency, there was always this product that could help alleviate my vitamin deficiency. Wee hee. And she made another test. This time, it was on the skin of my hand. And she told me my skin was aging! LOL! I thought of course... I'm getting old err... I mean I'm getting more matured... what do I expect with my skin... stay young? LOL. My mind was a bit sarcastic. But I know there are products that can stop your skin from aging. Now. What? Buy their products? No way. I think there are natural ways to slow down aging, if not stop it. Here are some natural ways to stop/slow down aging that I can think of:
  1. drink lots of water
  2. eat healthy stuff like fresh fruits and vegetables
  3. exercise daily
  4. get an ample sleep everyday.
It's a challenge... But if I keep it that way... I would probably slow down aging.

success!

Weaning my girl off breastmilk was indeed a success! It was so successful I feel guilty sometimes. I feel that I weaned her off too soon. I was actually planning to breastfeed her for two years. But it's still months away... and I stopped breastfeeding her already. Sometimes I think I should have waited. Arg! But I also give my self a consolation that before I weaned her off... she became too attached to me. And everytime she saw me, she would only think of milk. For her, mommy = milk. So I just couldn't wait for two more months. Now that I don't breastfeed my girl anymore, it's time to hit those diet programs. I've been too lazy to hit the treadmill so probably this time, I'll just go slow on food. Hmmm.. let's see...

family fun

there are just so many ways to have family fun in a budget or even for free. i can point out at least a few ways to have fun with family:
  1. watch kiddie movies at home
  2. make pizza together
  3. play at the park
  4. going window shopping in malls
  5. fly a kite on the beach (if you happen to live near the beach)
recently, we discovered something new that would add up to my list. you don't spend so much and i am really sure that the whole family will enjoy doing this. play mini basketball! last weekend, we discovered this while waiting for samantha to finish her playgroup. it was so much fun. it's good for exercise and good for losing weight as well. you don't even have to take Leptitrex to lose weight anymore. just go play mini basketball. you only pay 1RM (that's about 30 cents in US currency) for 1 set. it is really fun. well, if you have a family and you want to compete with my family... let's go and see who can shoot more points!
