National Car

Most people in Malaysia like to buy their much owned National Cars because of its affordability compare to imported cars. This is actually one of the reasons why my husband chooses to buy the locally made car. There are two big automobile companies in Malaysia. The first and the biggest is the Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional which is commonly known as Proton. They manufacture their cars based on Mitsubishi parts and technology. Since 1985, Proton has produce three million cars and therefore increasing its market share in the country.

Second to Proton is Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Berhad which is widely known as Perodua. This company is a manufacturer of small and compact car. This is normally the cheaper alternative to Proton. Which I think is the very reason why small cars are widely used in Malaysia.

I might find these small and compact cars cool and suitable to female drivers like me, but I have to take into consideration its safety side. As the car gets smaller and cheaper, they might have omitted some safety measure to save both cost and space which may increase the chances of a car accident. As Attorney Austin suggest, we should be clever enough in choosing our car. Don’t dare try to risk your family’s safety. Be smart in choosing your wheels.
